🦭Hooded seal
두건물범(Cystophora cristata)은 북대서양 중부와 서부 지역에서만 발견되는 대형 물범류의 일종으로 동쪽의 스발바르 제도부터 서쪽의 세인트로렌스만에 이르는 지역에 분포한다. 두건물범속(Cystophora)의 유일종이다. 두건물범은 무리 지어 살지 않는다. 하프물범보다 덩치가 큰데 수컷의 몸길이는 3m쯤 된다. 대체로 은-회색을 띠며, 몸 대부분에 다양한 크기의 검은 반점이 덮여 있다. 두건물범 새끼는 배 쪽의 희끄무레한 색과 함께 등에 청-회색을 띠기 때문에 "검은 등"으로 알려져 있지만, 14개월 후 허물을 벗을 때 털 색이 바뀐다.
