악어거북(Alligator snapping turtle)은 늑대거북과에 속하는 큰 거북이 종이며, 미국의 담수 서식지에 서식하는 고유종이다. 악어거북은 세계에서 가장 무거운 민물 거북 중 하나이자, 북아메리카에서 가장 큰 민물 거북이 종이다. 이 거북은 종종 악어거북속에 속하는 일반적인 늑대거북과 관련이 있지만 밀접한 관련은 없다. 종명인 마크로켈리스 테민키(M. temminckii)는 네덜란드의 동물학자 쿤라트 야코프 테밍크를 기리기 위한 것이다.
