🪲Japanese beetle
Japon böceği (Popillia japonica), bokböceğinin bir türüdür. Japon böceği anavatanı Japonya'da başka canlılar tarafından avlandığı için zararlı bir tür olarak kabul edilmez, ancak Kuzey Amerika'da ve Avrupa'nın bazı bölgelerinde yaklaşık 300 bitki türüne zarar verdiği bilinmektedir. Bu bitkilerden bazıları gül çalıları, üzümler, şerbetçiotu, kanna, üzüm salkımı, huş ağaçları, ıhlamur ağaçlarıdır. Ergin böcekler, yaprakların sadece damarlarında bulunan sinirleri tüketerek ve bazen de bitkinin meyvesi ile beslenerek bitkilere zarar verir. Toprak altı larvaları otların kökleriyle beslenir.
