Turritopsis dohrnii (Weismann, 1883)

Turritopsis dohrnii, ayrıca bilinen adıyla ölümsüz denizanası, biyolojik olarak ölümsüz bir denizanası türüdür. Küçük bir denizanası türü olan dohrnii, Akdeniz ve Japonya sularında yaşar. Bu tür, denizanalarının son yaşam evresi olan medusa evresine ulaştıktan sonra denizanalarının yaşam döngüsündeki ilk aşama olan polip formuna geri dönebilir ve bu süreç, sonsuza kadar devam edebilir ve tür, bu sayede biyolojik olarak ölümsüz olur. Doğadaki çoğu dohrnii'nin, polip formuna dönmeden önce başka bir hayvan tarafından yenmesi veya hastalık sonucu ölmesi muhtemeldir. Bu tür, eskiden hatalı bir şekilde turritopsis nutricula olarak adlandırılmıştı.
