Büyük kara sırtlı martı (Larus marinus), Avrupa ve Kuzey Amerika kıyıları ile Kuzey Atlantik adalarında görülen irice bir martı türüdür. Boyları 61-74 cm, kanat açıklıkları 1,4-1,7 m kadardır. İri ve güçlü bir gagaya sahiptirler. 3-5 yumurta bırakırlar.
