🐟Chain pickerel
Kara turna balığı (Esox niger eski ismi Esox reticulatus), Esocidae familyasına ait Kuzey Amerikada yaygın olan bir tatlı su balık türü. Kara turna balığı, Avrupa turna balığına çok benzer. Diğer turna balıkları gibi onun da çok uzun keskin dişleri, büyük bir ağzı ve vücudunun çok arka kısmında kalan sırt ve anal yüzgeçleri vardır. Ölçülmüş en büyükleri 99 cm uzunluğa ve 4,25 kilo ağırlığa sahibtir, ama insanlar için bir tehlike değildir. 9 yaşına kadar varabilir. 10 ila 20 derece su sıcaklığını tercih eder, yaşadığı suyun içinde 6 metre derinliğe kadar hareket eder ve küçük balıklar ile beslenir. Kuzey Amerika: Nova Scotia, Kanada'dan (sonradan getirilmis) güney Florida'ya kadar.
