🐟Bowfin
Kel balık (Amia calva), Amiiformes takımının günümüze kadar nesilini korumayı başaran tek türüdür ve Amiidae familyasının Amia cinsine aittir. Kel balıklar Kuzey Amerika'da bulunurlar, uzun bir sırt yüzgeçleri ve bir sürü küçük pulları vardır. En büyükleri 1 metre uzunluğa ve 7 kilo ağırlığa varabilir. Geceleri aktif olan yırtıcı balıklardır. Küçük balıklar, kurbağalar ve yengeçler ile beslenirler. Üreme zamanları mayıs ile haziran aylarındadır ve bu zamanda erkekleri su bitkileri parçaları ile yuva yaparlar. Bu yuva inşaatı ve yumurtlama daima geceleyin gerçekleşir. Erkek balık, önce yumurtaları ve sonra da 8 ila 10 gün içinde yumurtadan çıkan yavruları korur.
