🐊American crocodile
Crocodylus acutus, Orta ve Kuzey Amerika'da yaşayan bir timsah türüdür. Alligator missisipiensis ile sıklıkla karıştırılır. Erkeğin en fazla uzunluğu 420 cm, ağırlığı 380 kg, dişisinin ise en fazla uzunluğu 340 cm 73 kg olur. Alligator missisipiensis'e göre soğuğa daha dirençlidir. 7 C° sıcaklığındaki suya bile dayanabilirler. Nehir ağızları, nehirler, göller ve hatta denizlerde bile yaşar. Karayipler, Orta Amerika, Florida ve Meksika'da yaşar. Genel olarak Kosta Rika'da bulunurlar.
