🐨Koala
コアラ（Koala、学名：Phascolarctos cinereus）は、双前歯目コアラ科コアラ属に分類される有袋類。8属16種がいたとされるが、環境変動などで大半は絶滅した。現生種では本種のみでコアラ科コアラ属を構成する。 日本語の別名はコモリグマ（子守熊）またはフクログマ（袋熊）であり、オーストラリア大陸東部の森林地帯（ユーカリ林など）に生息している。台湾華語では無尾熊と表記する、中国語では樹袋熊または考拉（カオラー）と表記する。 体色は背面が灰色で、腹面が白色、オーストラリア北部に生息するコアラよりも（後述の理由により）南部に生息するコアラの方が体が大きく体毛の長さも長い。タンニンや油分を多く含むユーカリの葉や、アカシア、ティーツリーの葉や芽を食べる。稀に歩くこともあり、4足歩行である。
