國王企鵝（學名：Aptenodytes patagonicus），是世界上的第二大企鵝，雖然外形與帝企鹅有些相似，但其體型較小。該品種共有兩個亞種：福克兰群岛王企鹅和麦夸里岛王企鹅。前者主要分佈於南大西洋、後者分佈於南印度洋（凯尔盖朗群岛、克羅斯島、愛德華王子島、赫德島和麥克唐納群島）和麥誇里島。 國王企鵝主要棲食燈籠魚、烏賊和磷蝦。在覓食中，國王企鵝將會潛入超過100公尺的深海以尋找獵物，有記錄顯示國王企鵝能夠到達的海洋深度超過300公尺（1,000英尺）。其天敵包括巨鹱、賊鷗、白鞘嘴鸥、豹海豹和虎鯨。 在當代，國王企鵝的族群主要生活在南極洲北部的新西兰亚南极群岛、在南喬治亞島和該地區的其他溫帶島嶼上繁殖。也生活在南大洋的麥誇里島。過去，國王企鵝經常以脂肪、油、肉和羽毛而遭到人為撲殺。並在近年在人類的關注下得到了充分的保護。
