🐟Atlantic salmon
Atlantlax (Salmo salar) är en vandrande fiskart, som förökar sig i sötvatten men tillbringar största delen av sitt vuxna liv i havet. Där äter den sig tjock på sill och tobis för att sedan återvända till sitt "hemvatten". Det finns även några sällsynta laxbestånd som lever hela sitt liv i sötvatten, ofta beroende på att människan genom dammbyggen m.m. förhindrar vandringen ut till havet bland annat i Namsenvassdraget i Norge. Dessa stationära laxbestånd består av mycket småväxta laxar, att jämföra med s.k. bäcköring.
