🪲Darwin's bark spider
Caerostris darwini — вид аранеоморфных пауков из семейства кругопрядов. Представители вида производят самые большие и прочные сети паутин, известные учёным. Их площадь варьирует от 900 до 28 000 см², а длина «тросов» паутины достигает 25 метров. Сама паутина считается самым прочным биологическим материалом из когда-либо изученных. Впервые пауки этого вида были обнаружены на острове Мадагаскар в Национальном парке Андасибе-Мантадиа в 2001 году. Однако, подробное описание вида сделали лишь спустя 8 лет, приурочив это событие к 150-летию первого издания работы «Происхождение видов» и назвав вид в честь Дарвина.
