🦀Japanese spider crab
סרטן-עכביש יפני (שם מדעי: Macrocheira kaempferi) הוא פרוק הרגליים הגדול ביותר בעולם. הפרט הגדול ביותר הוא בעל רגליים המתפרסות לרוחב של כארבעה מטרים (כל רגל באורך 1.815 מטר), גוף באורך של כ-37 סנטימטרים ומשקל של 16 עד 19 קילוגרם. עם זאת במשקלו הוא קטן יותר מהלובסטר האמריקאי. בית הגידול הטבעי של הסרטן בקרקעית האוקיינוס השקט בעומק של 50 עד 300 מטרים בסביבות יפן, שם הוא ניזון מפגרים ומחסרי חוליות ימיים. מעריכים שתוחלת חייו מגיעה למאה שנים. הסרטן נחשב מאובן חי. כיום ידוע רק מין אחד מסוג זה, אולם ישנם דיווחים על פרטים מאובנים ממינים נוספים השייכים לסוג.
