🐃Japanese serow
סרו יפני (שם מדעי: Capricornis crispus; מוכר גם בכינוי היפני קאמושיקה) הוא מין של אנטילופת-עז בינונית בסוג סרו האנדמי לאיי יפן. הוא תואר לראשונה בשנת 1836 ושמו המדעי השתנה מספר פעמים עד שהגיע לשם הנוכחי. המין הקרוב ביותר אליו מבחינה גנטית הוא הסרו הטאיוואני האנדמי לאי טאיוואן הסמוך ליפן. בעבר סווג בתקופה מסוימת בסוג גוראל. הסרו היפני הוא בעל חיים בגודל בינוני ובעל פרווה צמרית-מדובללת בצבע שחרחר-לבנבן, המשתנה מעט בין העונות. לשני המינים יש קרניים קצרות ועבות המתעקלות לאחור והן מזכירות את קרני העיזים. סרו זה חי ביערות הרריים צפופים שבהם הוא ניזון מעלים, עשבים ושתילים. הוא בעל חיים יומי הפעיל בעיקר בשעות הבוקר והערב, לעיתים בבדידות ולעיתים בזוגות או קבוצות קטנות. הסרואים היפנים טריטוריאליים, ומסמנים את שטחם על ידי הפרשות מבלוטות הריח הסמוכות לעין. הטריטוריה של הזכרים והנקבות עשויה לחפוף ברובה. באמצע המאה ה-20 הסרו היפני נרדף עד כדי הכחדה. בשנת 1955 הממשלה היפנית העבירה חוק מיוחד על מנת להגן עליו מציד; בעקבות כך מספרי הסרו גדלו עד כדי כך שהם הפכו למזיקים באזורים מסוימים. לאחר תלונות רבות של יערנים וחקלאים החוק בוטל בשנת 1979 והותר לצודו, ותחת זאת הסרו קיבל מעמד של בעל חיים מוגן ב-13 אזורי שימור מוגנים המתפרשים על פני 23 מחוזות. סרו זה מוכר היטב בתרבות היפנית והוא נחשב לאחד מהסמלים הלאומיים של המדינה. מצב שימורו מוגדר על ידי IUCN כ"ללא חשש" (LC) ואוכלוסייתו נאמדת בעשרות אלפי פרטים.
