🐔Green Pheasant
פסיון ירוק (שם מדעי: Phasianus versicolor) הוא מין של עוף קרקע דמוי תרנגול מהסוג פסיון. הוא אנדמי לארכיפלג היפני והוא הציפור הלאומית של יפן. הוא קרובו לסוג של המין פסיון מצוי. אין עדין הסכמה גמורה על סיווגו כי יש המסווגים אותו כתת-מין של פסיון מצוי, אך רוב החוקרים מסווגים אותו כמין נפרד. אורך הפסיונים הזכרים 75–89 ס"מ ומשקלם 0.9–1.1 ק"ג. הנקבות קטנות יותר, אורכן 21–28 ס"מ ומשקלם 0.8–0.9 ק"ג. הפסיון הירוק דומה במידותיו לפסיון מצוי, אלא שצבעיו שונים: גופו ירוק וצווארו כחול. הראש בעל כרבולת אדומה גדולה. הכנפיים והזנב אפורים ומפוספסים בשחור בקצה. הנקבות אינן צבעוניות אלא מתאפיינות בצבעי הסוואה חומים. פסיון זה חי בטבע באיים היפנים הונשו, שיקוקו וקיושו וכן באיים קטנים יותר. הוא הופץ גם להוואי ולארצות הברית שם הוא ניצוד לשם ספורט. בתי הגידול שלו הם יערות, שדות גבוהים, כרי דשא והרים. מצב השימור של הפסיון הירוק מוגדר ללא חשש.
