🐟Gilt-head bream
סְפָּרוּס זָהוֹב ,שם עממי: דניס או צִ'יפּוּרָה (באנגלית: Gilt-head bream; שם מדעי: Sparus aurata) הוא דג קטן ממשפחת הספרוסיים הגדל במימי הים התיכון ובמזרח האוקיינוס האטלנטי. משקלו הממוצע נע סביב 500 גרם ואורכו כ-40 סנטימטר אך הוא עשוי להגיע למשקל של 17 קילוגרם ואורך של 70 סנטימטר. עורו של הדניס כסוף, הוא מתאפיין בפס זהוב בין עיניו ובשרו לבן. דג הדניס כשר, והוא משמש כמאכל לאדם וגידולו נפוץ בישראל, ספרד, טורקיה ויוון. נהוג גם לגדלו בבריכות מים מלוחים. באילת הוא גדל בכלובי דגים נייחים במימי ים סוף עד 2008 ובאשדוד בכלובי דגים ניידים במימי הים התיכון על גבול המים הטריטוריאליים. השם "דניס" מקורו בשיבוש לשוני של ישראלים למילה הטורקית דניז – deniz (שפירושה ים). את הדג, שנקרא בטורקית צ'יפורה, ניתן לגדל בבריכות, או לדוג בים. לדג שמגיע מהים קוראים בטורקית "צ'יפורה דניז" או בתרגום לעברית: "צ'יפורה מהים". עם הזמן נשכח השם המלא ונשארה רק הסיומת "דניז" שהשתבשה ל"דניס". כיום, רובם המכריע של הדגים המצויים בשוק הישראלי מגיעים אמנם מחקלאות ימית, אך השם "דניס" נשאר כשמו של הדג, ללא קשר למקור גידולו.
