🦎Gila monster
הלודרמה מרירית (שם מדעי: Heloderma suspectum) היא מין של לטאה ארסית ממשפחת ההלודרמיים (Helodermatidae), המצויה בדרום ארצות הברית ובצפון מקסיקו. קרויה באנגלית Gila Monster (מפלצת חילה) על שם נהר חילה (Gila River), הזורם במדינות ניו מקסיקו ואריזונה שבארצות הברית. לטאה כבדה ואיטית זו עשויה להגיע לאורך של עד 60 ס"מ, היא הלטאה הילידית הארסית היחידה בארצות הברית ואחת מ-2 מינים ידועים בלבד של לטאות ארסיות בצפון אמריקה. המין השני הוא מין קרוב של לטאה מקסיקנית בשם הלודרמה ארסית. לטאה זו איטית ביותר ומגושמת, ועל אף ארסיותה אינה נחשבת מסוכנת במיוחד לבני אדם. עם זאת בעיני רבים היא נחשבת בעל חיים מפחיד ואף מסוכן, ולעיתים ממיתים אותה בשל כך, על אף שהיא מהווה בעל חיים מוגן לפי חוקי אריזונה.
