🐈Fossa
פוֹסָה (שם מדעי: Cryptoprocta ferox) היא מין של טורף ממשפחת טורפי מדגסקר (Eupleridae), אשר אנדמי למדגסקר. לפוסה מאפיינים חיצוניים הדומים למשפחות החתוליים, הנמייתיים והגחניים, מה שגרם למחלוקות ושינויים רבים בסיווגה המדעי. צבע פרוותה הוא חום-אדמדם עד כתמתם בהיר, גפיה שריריות וזנבה ארוך כמעט כמחצית גופה. הפוסה היא טורפת-העל של מדגסקר והיא צדה למאכל יונקים קטנים, ביניהם טרום קופים, זוחלים, עופות, ומגוונת גם בחרקים, דו-חיים ואף בצמחים. היא מצטיינת בתנועה על עצים, ופעילה הן במשך היום והן במשך הלילה. כיום מצויה הפוסה בסכנת הכחדה עקב ציד ופגיעה בבית גידולה המיוער. מצב שימורה כיום הוא: "פגיע" (VU).
