קנדירו (Vandellia cirrhosa) הוא דג מים מתוקים המצוי בנהר האמזונאס. בקרב המקומיים הוא נחשב לדג מאיים אפילו יותר מהפיראנה. הדג גדל לאורך של סנטימטרים בודדים, כשהגדולים ביותר מגיעים לאורך 40 ס"מ אך הרוב קטנים הרבה יותר, וצורתו דומה מעט לצלופח, כך שבמים העכורים של האמזונאס כמעט בלתי אפשרי לראותו. הקנדירו הוא טפיל; הוא שוחה אל חלל הזימים של דגים אחרים, מעמיד דורבן הנמצא מתחת לראשו וניזון מהדם שבזימים. מסיבה זו הוא גם קרוי "הדג הערפדי של ברזיל".
