🐟Atlantic halibut
לשונון אטלנטי (שם מדעי: Hippoglossus hippoglossus) הוא מין של דג מהסוג לשונון שבמשפחת השְׁטַחְנוּנִיִּים שבסדרת הסוליתאים. הלשונון האטלנטי חי בעומקים של בין כ-50 מטר לכ-2,000 מטר. הלשונון האטלנטי הוא אחד מהסוליתאים הגדולים בעולם ומשקלו יכול לעלות לעיתים על 300 ק"ג. גודלו של הלשונון אינו קבוע ובדרך כלל מושפע מכמות המזון שהלשונון מצליח למצוא. תחום המחייה הטבעי של הלשונון נמצא בין לברדור לאיסלנד וגרינלנד. בחופי אירופה משתרע השטח בין ים ברנץ למפרץ ביסקאיה. הלשונון הוא דג משה רבנו הגדול ביותר באוקיינוס האטלנטי, ובין הגדולים בעולם. הלשונון מגיע לאורך של כארבעה מטרים ולמשקל של כ-320 קילו. תוחלת החיים הממוצעת של הלשונון היא 50 שנים. הגעתו של הלשונון האטלנטי לבגרות מינית מתרחשת בגילאי 7 עד 8 אצל זכרים, ו-11 עד 12 אצל נקבות. עונות ההשרצה של הלשונון נעות בין מרץ למאי.
