🦎Armadillo girdled lizard
לטאת הארמדילו או קורדיל הארמדילו (שם מדעי: Ouroborus cataphractus) הוא מין זוחל קטן ממשפחת הקורדליים המצוי במדבריות ואזורים יבשים בחופיה המערביים של דרום אפריקה. זהו המין היחיד בסוגו. אורכו של 7.5-10 ס"מ והוא בעל קשקשים משוריינים בחום וצהוב לכל אורך גופו. הראש גדול וישנה עטרה סביבו לכל אורכו עד לשפתיים ולעיניים השחורות. תחתית הגוף שחורה. הקורדיל חי באזורים יבשים בקרבה לסלעים והוא מצוי בחבורות של עד 30 פרטים המתחממות על הסלעים בבקרים ואחרי הצהריים. הזכרים טריטוריאליים ומזדווגים עם הנקבות השוכנות על סלעי החימום שלהם. בשונה ממרבית הלטאות הם יולדים צאצאים חיים. הקורדילים נשמרים מאויבים היכולים להפתיע אותם והם אינם מתרחקים הרבה מהסלעים. אם טורף תופס את הקורדיל הוא יתגלגל לכדור וינשוך את זנבו כך שכל גופו יהיה מוקף בקוצנים גדולים, בדומה לארמדילו. הוא ניזון מחרקים, פרוקי רגליים והפרטים הגדולים יאכלו גם חולייתנים קטנים.
