Scardinius erythrophthalmus (Linnaeus, 1758)

Sorva (Scardinius erythrophthalmus) on Euroopassa ja Keski-Aasiassa esiintyvä kala. Sorva muistuttaa ulkonäöltään särkeä, mutta sillä on punaiset evät ja keltaiset silmät ja on särkeä leveämpi, lisäksi aikuisten yksilöiden kyljissä on kuparinruskeaa sävyä. Sitä kutsutaan myös "punakontiksi" evien värin takia. Sorva muistuttaa myös jossain määrin säynettä ja turpaa. Sorva kasvaa 15–25 cm:n pituiseksi. Se elää makeassa vedessä ja murtovedessä, erityisesti matalissa ja ruovikkoisissa lahdissa. Se on kaikkiruokainen ja syö erilaisten pohjaeläinten lisäksi vesikasveja. Se syö kotiloita sekä rihma- ja rakkoleviä. Sorva kutee toukokuun lopussa tai kesäkuussa. Suomessa sen levinneisyysalue ulottuu Suomessa Pohjois-Savoon ja Pohjois-Karjalaan asti. Sorvaa esiintyy Välimereltä Uralin itäpuolelle.
