🦈Blue shark

Prionace glauca (Linnaeus, 1758)

Sinihai (Prionace glauca) on suurikokoinen härkähaiden heimon kala, joka painaa täysikasvuisena 60–80 kiloa. Sitä tavataan syvissä vesissä useimmilla lauhkeilla ja trooppisilla merialueilla, itäisellä Atlantilla aina Norjasta Etelä-Afrikkaan. Sinihai viihtyy viileähkössä vedessä, ja siksi se lämpimämmillä alueilla pysyy varsin syvällä, kun taas viileämmillä alueilla se on lähempänä pintaa. Sinihaita ei myöskään tavata matalissa lämpimissä merissä kuten Punaisellamerellä tai Meksikonlahdella. Sinihai voi vaeltaa pitkiä matkoja, esimerkiksi Uuden-Englannin edustalta Etelä-Amerikkaan.
