Natrix natrix (Linnaeus, 1758)

Die Ringelnatter (Natrix natrix) ist eine Schlangenart aus der Familie der Nattern (Colubridae). Sie ist mit mehreren Unterarten in großen Teilen Europas und Asiens verbreitet. Die Art lebt meist in der Nähe von Gewässern und ernährt sich überwiegend von Amphibien. Wie die anderen (in Mitteleuropa heimischen) Arten der Nattern ist die Ringelnatter für Menschen vollkommen ungefährlich.
